The Houston native, Christopher Dave is widely known as the "part-time" tight drummer of the underappreciated band Mint Condition. He has performed with the Mint for several years but has performed with various artists of different generes: Kenny Garrett, Bobby Sparks, Mary J Blidge, Toni Braxton, Kevin Mahagony, Vicente Archer, Vernel Brown, Vernell Brown, Munyungo Jackson, Romero Lubambo, Shedrick Mitchell, Charnett Moffett, Nat Reeves, Dianne Reeves, Otmaro Ruiz and Reginald Veal (so far). He has been the major influence of Eric Porter. According to Andrew Lienard of Jazz Houston News, "The first time I heard Chris, he was playing with Roy Hargrove in the 1987 Texas All-State band. A freshman, Chris was already a playing rhythms more complex than most could understand. In the years since he's done a wide range of stuff. For several years he played with Mint Condition.
